1 million Kinects sold

It seems like Microsoft is hitting a stride, some places more than others, with selling their latest devices offerings this holiday season. In a statement today, the software giant announced that they have sold one million Kinect devices in just 10 short days, when the hands-free remote for Xbox 360 consoles debuted on Thursday, November 4th, in North America. The company was previously ridiculed for believing they would sell 5 million Kinects by year’s end, now it seems that goal is attainable.

Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft, said that “this is a great start to the holiday season” and they’re well on their way to hitting the 5 million mark. Kinect will launch next in Asia and Japan on November 18th and November 20th, respectively, reaching 38 countries. It has already launched in Europe.
