Internet Explorer 9: The Review
I’ve always been an IE user, ever since it was 1st a part of Windows. So I can’t tell you how awesome it is to see IE mature into a modern sexy browser.
What I like
Simple and clean UI ( Very metro)
I never had a problem with IE’s interface before, but IE9’s new interface was like a breath of fresh air. The UI is so minimal in fact, that sometimes I forget I’m even using a browser. The IE’s team motto “beauty of the web” effects can be seen everwhere. Besides the tiny blue e in the adress bar, you would never even know your using a Microsoft product
Speed, Speed, Speed
You could have picked my jaw up off the floor the 1st time I booted up IE9. I’ve played around with Chrome, Firefox and Opera., But I’ve never seen a browser handle complex sites ( flash, silverlight) with such speed even on a computer as underpowered as my HP tm2.
What I don’t Like
Some odd UI choices
It took me a few minutes to find the favorites button the 1st time I looked for it and some of the option boxes are seriously outdated. Also by default there is no easy way to see you most used sites without opening a new tab.
No plan for “Out of band” updates
This is a big one for me, I like my apps updated early and often and as far as I can tell we plan to stick to the standard release timeline ( 18-24). This just doesn’t work in this day an age where other browsers are updated every week. I hope the IE team reconsiders this… as it would do wonders for IE’s mindshare and marketshare.
In closing
For being a beta, IE9 is an amazing browser.. sure it has its rough edges, but there is nothing that should keep you from enjoying it.

The person or persons who decided to put the tabs NEXT to the address bar should be fired…
yeah, and the person who decided to birth you should be sorely disappointed in the type of person that they raised.
he makes sense, you are a d***head for that comment
I actually just installed the IE 9 beta version released yesterday. Took no more than 15 minutes to go back to faster, makes more sense IE8. I think microsoft in general has lost it. If IE 9 is anything to go by, I suspect windows 7 software for phones will be a dud as well.
you must be absolutely retarded if you think that IE8 was faster than IE9. IE9 is so fast it’s scary. Personally I think uninformed comments like this need to not exist. You are, via the bill of rights, allowed to express your opinion, however, if you want to bash one of Microsoft’s most compelling browser updates to date, go to an apple, google, or linux biased blog. Microsoft is doing their best to show that Windows still should ship with a browser, and that they should still have a mobile platform, so don’t even go there man. I will challenge you every step of the way.
i think IE9 speed is not so fast

compared to IE8, it’s hella fast. The thing starts up in less than 5s on an outdated computer running Windows 7. The browsing experience could be better. Besides that, it’s the best browser since chrome, imho. HTML5 FTW!!!!!!!!!!
ie 9 sucks man
You suck, man. It’s the best browser ever. At least until the competition implement hardware acceleration.
If you installed IE9 last week you will need this tip from techie buzz.

My problem however was I uninstalled IE8 before running IE9.
I had to do ‘recovery’ on Win.7 PC to rid it of bugs left over from IE9 as ‘system restore’ function was damaged.
Thankfully I did a backup before the initial IE9 install. So after doing recovery then re-installing backup (missing any explorer) I had to use Safari to load & run IE8.
Trust IE9 will be out of beta soon as it is just fantastic./awarsome!
the fastest browser out there is Orca beats ms, Firefox and chrome hands down.try it http://www.orcabrowser.com/
IE asadfa
IE9 is the fastest browser I have installed, and I have Chrome, IE8, and Firefox on here. That said, I did have to switch back to Chrome just to comment here, because IE9 wasn’t showing the text (but, it is a beta).
Also, “by default there is no easy way to see you most used sites without opening a new tab,” you can do this pretty easily. Just make “about:Tabs” your homepage and you can reach it by clicking home or launching your browser. I actually like that feature.
IE 9 is not rendering my HTML5 correctly….chrome and firefox work great.
I hate this new version. I’ve never had so many problems and issues before. I can’t even attach a document in an email without things disappearing. I checked for viruses on my computer and I have none. All of my issues started the second I loaded IE 9. Does anyone know how to get it off and reload the older version back on? I tried loading 7 back and it will not let me. It may be faster, but I spend more time trying to get around the issues it takes me longer to do things.
webpages close at least 5 times a day while I’m working. IE is buggy, and I’m on the final released version. wouldn’t you think that by the 9th version, they would have fixed the bugs? waste of time.
