Lumia 520 is the most popular Windows Phone
According to AdDuplex, the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Phone apps, Windows Phone popularity has shifted quite dramatically over the last month. Data collected from 836 Windows Phone apps running the AdDuplex SDK v.2. show that just last month the Lumina 520 was the fifth most popular Windows Phone, today it has been revealed that the Lumina 520 has dethroned the Lumina 920 taking the spot as the most popular Windows Phone worldwide.
It seems as though Nokia’s strategy of targeting a wide range of specifications is paying off. It should come to no surprise that the Nokia line of Lumia phones are dominating “the charts” but just for your viewing pleasure here are “the charts.” As you can see below there are only two manufacturers that actually have put a dent on the Windows Phone market are Nokia and HTC. Of course HTC has delivered some unique Windows Phone’s of their own such as the HTC 8S and the HTC 8X.
Another revelation from Adduplex is that Verizon sells more Windows Phones than AT&T which contradicts what AT&T CEO Ralph de la Vega said at the Lumia 1020 event; “AT&T sells more Windows Phones than any other carrier.”
With the Lumia 1020 coming out soon these charts should shift a bit considering that it will be Nokia’s and Microsoft’s next Hero phone.
